
Prior to establishing Opto Design, Ron was Design Director at The New York Times Electronic Media Company. Ron developed the visual identity for New York Times products on the Web and on America Online, as well as for Times-owned sites the Learning Network and Golf Digest. He had held this position since the formation of the electronic group in 1995.
Ron has also designed and created Web sites for Condé Nast Traveler, NJ Online/ The Old Farmer's Almanac, as well as NBC Supernet and Intellicast Weather for The Microsoft Network while at Tom Nicholson Associates. Ron began his career working with Paula Scher for six years at Pentagram Design, working for such clients as the Public Theater, American Museum of Natural History, Estée Lauder, Carol Publishing and Simon & Schuster.
Ron's work in Web design has earned him recognition from professional associations and awards shows including the Art Director's Club, Communication Arts, I.D. Magazine, Society of Publication Design, American Center for Design and the Kelsey Awards (Best Design, Large Circulation Newspaper). |
