Although generally discouraged, a limited allowance is made for publicity and advertising campaigns in which the message is featured as an extension of the logotype itself. As shown in figure A, a field of color may be extended above the ACLU logotype to accommodate a single additional message. The white border and interior space is also included in the message extension. The proportion of the message extension should be 2 to 3 times the height of the logotype in vertical configurations, and 2 to 3 times the width in horizontal configurations. Multiple message extensions, as shown in figure B, are prohibited.
